As communities and ecosystems experience more frequent and intense climate impacts, researchers across diverse fields must grapple with the question – how do we ethically conduct research in climate-affected places? In this paper, we introduce a framework for climate change-conscious methodologies, drawing on insights from the field of disaster studies and environmental studies. This work calls for greater attention to a core issue in CERC NEST – how we center and support the long-term resilience of communities in just and equitable futures.
