St. Lawrence Retrofit, Toronto: Initial Results
We shared initial results from the St. Lawrence Retrofitting Listening Sessions, where residents explored block-level retrofitting in their community. Our analysis highlighted the need for people-centred and fair retrofit solutions, including carbon-neutral retrofits, local retrofit information hubs, adequate building codes and standards, and social innovations (i.e. sharing contractor
experiences) to support informed decision-making.
Collection Launch!
We are pleased to announce the launch of the “Polycrisis Challenges and Options for Equitable Climate Action in Cities” Collection in npj Urban Sustainability, with Paty Romero-Lankao serving as Guest Editor. Our postdoctoral researchers will submit a paper to the collection, contributing insights on how urban climate action can navigate the polycrises and foster equity. Interested in submitting a paper? Energy Chapter
We launched our Energy Chapter for Canada’s Living in Our Changing Climate Report, part of Natural Resources Canada’s National Assessment Process. Paty Romero Lankao, Valerie Berseth, and Zachary Gan are co-authors. The chapter assesses why and how adaptation and mitigation that supports resilient energy systems through an equity lens, can advance climate-resilient energy for all.
