This article employs a community-based approach to urban climate resilience planning through the application of participatory GIS with flood-affected communities. The participatory mapping process enhanced community resilience by situating local vulnerabilities and capacities within their broader socio-environmental context, fostering a more nuanced understanding of the coupled human–environment systems that shape flood vulnerability, and advancing adaptive strategies through the systematic integration of local and experiential knowledge.
