Topic/Focus:
This project examines commute equity in Toronto, Los Angeles, and Mexico City within the context of urban sustainability transitions.
Location/Context:
It focuses on how public transit services vary across communities and how transit development shapes both commuting and housing equity. Using harmonized spatial data and indicators such as service frequency, stop density, and peak-hour availability, we assess the alignment between transit supply and local needs.
Approach to equity and Key finding/argument:
Grounded in an equity framework that considers distributional and accessibility dimensions, the analysis highlights disparities in service provision and their broader social impacts. Preliminary findings show significant spatial mismatches between transit demand and supply, with distinct patterns emerging across cities at different stages of development.
Expected date of completion:
The manuscript is in preparation, with an expected submission in mid-2026.

By combining high-resolution hazard data with census data, it evaluates how exposure to climate risks varies across communities.

Grounded in an equity-oriented framework, the analysis focuses on the intersection between environmental hazards and social vulnerability, including income, housing, and demographic characteristics. The project underscores the value of cross-city comparison for identifying both common and context-specific vulnerability patterns.
